Urban Designer – Grade: H
Job Purpose
To promote the Council’s vision, values, aims, objectives, and priorities actively and effectively, putting our citizens first through the delivery of best value services.
The Urban Designer will contribute to the development and implementation of urban design projects, ensuring high-quality, sustainable, and inclusive urban environments. This role involves providing urban and architectural design advice, supporting strategic decision-making, and influencing good Place Making across the city.
Tree Preservation Officer – Grade: H
Job Purpose
To manage and enhance the city's tree population by providing expert arboricultural advice to the Planning and Urban Design teams, overseeing the application and enforcement of Tree Protection Orders (TPOs), and contributing to the sustainable management of Nottingham’s urban forest.
Under the Town and Country Planning Act 1990 the council has statutory responsibility for the protection of trees subject to a Tree Preservation Order and those within a conservation area on land owned by others.
The Tree Preservation Officer will work collaboratively with other departments, external partners, and the public to maintain and protect the city’s trees, ensuring their contribution to environmental, social, and economic well-being.

Senior Planning Enforcement Officer – Grade: H
Job Purpose

As the Senior Planning Enforcement Officer for Nottingham City Council, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and enhancing the integrity of Nottingham's built environment. You will ensure compliance with planning laws, investigate potential breaches of planning regulations, and work with property owners, developers, and the public to resolve planning issues in accordance with legal frameworks and the council's planning policies.
You will be lead a team of investigators who deal with customer complaints concerning breaches of planning control in connection with cases of unauthorised development, working in a coordinated way with other colleagues across the Council and relevant external organisations to bring cases to a resolution.
Planning Services Manager – Grade: K
Job Purpose
To actively and effectively promote the Council’s vision, values, aims, objectives and priorities, putting our citizens first through the delivery of best value services.
To lead and manage the Planning Services team, ensuring the delivery of high-quality urban design, conservation, enforcement, project management, monitoring of Section 106 contributions and arboriculture services. The role involves strategic oversight, effective resource management, and contributing to Nottingham City Council’s vision for sustainable development and place-making.
