New Education Inspection Framework (EIF) November 2025

The new Education Inspection Framework comes into effect on 10^th November 2025 and will set out how Ofsted inspects registered early years settings. It includes the principles that apply to inspection, and the main evaluations that inspectors make.

To support with the engagement of the new EIF, Ofsted are running live webinars that set out the main changes to education inspections which will come into force in November 2025. You can find out more about these webinars and how to book on here.

We are aware these sessions are popular and new dates are being added so please do keep checking back for future dates.

In addition, the Early Years Team are pleased to be facilitating specific briefings dedicated to Nottingham City Providers.  These briefings will be led by Will Good, Ofsted Early Years Senior Officer and will help providers build on their understanding of the renewed framework. 

The Nottingham City online sessions will take place on Tuesday 14th October 2025 at 1:30pm to 3pm or 6pm to 7:30pm and you can secure your place by booking here.

The Office for Standards in Education, Children's Services and Skills (Ofsted) are independent and impartial and inspect and inspect and regulate services which care for children and young people, and those providing education and skills for learners of all ages.  

As stated in the current Provider Agreement, Nottingham City Early Years and Childcare Providers should inform the Early Years Team when they are being inspected by Ofsted with the date and time of the Ofsted feedback to enable a member of the Team to be present if possible (with the exception of childminders).
