Affordable Housing Contributions arising from Student Accommodation SPD
Nottingham City Council is consulting on the Draft Affordable Housing Contributions arising from Student Accommodation SPD in accordance with the Town and Country Planning (Local Development) (England) Regulations 2012 from 27 May until 5pm on 5 August 2020.
Further details are set out below including a copy of the document.
What is the SPD?
This SPD will provide further guidance to developers on the Local Planning Authority’s requirements for new developer contributions from Purpose Built Student Accommodation towards affordable housing. This will supplement Policy 8 of the Aligned Core Strategy 2014 (ACS) and Policy HO3: Affordable Housing in the Land and Planning Policies Local Plan Part 2 - 2020 (LAPP) to provide the policy basis for setting out such contributions.
What is the purpose and status of the SPD?
Supplementary Planning Documents (SPDs) provide further detail and explanation to support policy in the Nottingham City Local Plan. SPDs are a material consideration in making decisions on planning applications.
This SPD is being prepared to explain the implications of the Local Plan Part 2 (Nottingham City Land and Planning Policies Development Plan Document, LAPP) Policy HO3: Affordable Housing. In particular, it sets out the commuted sum that will be required in lieu of on-site affordable housing provision on sites providing Purpose Built Student Accommodation within Nottingham City.
How will comments be used?
