What Goes In The Recycling Bin
These are the only items to put in your recycling bin (brown bin with a grey lid).
Remove all food, liquid, and any other contents, and rinse clean before recycling - please keep everything else out:
- Plastic packaging bottles and cartons - all shapes and sizes, with lids, nozzles, pumps, rollers, or pourers
- Plastic packaging including fruit punnets, margarine tubs, yoghurt and sauce pots, meat trays, and spread jars
- Glass bottles including perfume and jars including toiletries
- Paper including magazines and non-glittery wrapping paper, and clean cardboard (if no food or grease)
- Metal packaging including cans, tins, aerosols, puree tubes, foil trays, and foil.

If you want to recycle a small electrical item, drop it off at one of the local Tetrapak & Small Electrical Recycling drop-off points.
Household Batteries: You can recycle your Household batteries conveniently by collecting them in a clear plastic bag, sealing the bag and placing it on top of your bin on bin day; this can be either your recycling bin or general rubbish bin.

Please ensure that your bin is placed on the pavement outside your property (or the collection point agreed with the council) no earlier than 7pm on the day before collection and is removed from the pavement and returned within the boundary of your property by no later than 7pm on collection day. Wheeled bins can be used as a tool for burglary or fire. Bringing your bin back in promptly will help prevent this.
Please make sure your bin is presented safely, and it does not cause an obstruction.
