I need help finding work or training

Connect to Work is a voluntary employment support programme for people who have a health condition, disability or other barriers that make it more difficult to find or stay in work.

You could get personalised, one-to-one support to help you:

• identify your strengths, needs and employment goals;
• create an action plan;
• find work that matches your skills and goals;
• stay in work if you're at risk of losing your job;
• connect with employers; and
• access other health, skills and wider support where needed.

Connect to Work may be suitable if you are not currently working, or if you are in work but at risk of losing your job because of a health condition or other challenges. You do not need to be claiming benefits to take part.

The programme can also support people experiencing a range of barriers to employment, including caring responsibilities, homelessness or risk of homelessness, experience of the care or criminal justice system, domestic abuse and other circumstances. Are you aged 16-24 and need support to take your next step?

The Young People's Jobs Fund (YPJF) is Nottingham City Council's £2.5 million programme supporting young people aged 16-24 who are facing barriers or who are not currently in education, employment or training (NEET).

The programme aims to help young people build confidence, improve wellbeing, develop skills and progress towards positive futures through a range of tailored support and opportunities.

What support is available?

The programme includes:

• One-to-one employment and progression support through Community Employment Pathways.
• Flexible financial support for eligible 16-17 year olds through the NEET Flexible Support Fund, helping to overcome practical barriers such as travel, equipment, clothing and other costs that may prevent participation in education, employment or training.
• Mental health and wellbeing support.
• Green Skills Explorer courses covering construction, environmental and land management, and creative industries and self-employment.
• Employer-led Business Challenge Work Taster opportunities.
• Employment opportunities supported through the Good Employment Grant.

Community Employment Pathways

Community Employment Pathways is the main route into the programme and provides personalised support to help young people identify their goals and progress towards education, employment or training.

Who is the programme for?

The Young People's Jobs Fund is designed for young people aged 16-24 who:

• are not currently in education, employment or training (NEET) and would benefit from additional support to achieve their goals;
• are economically inactive; or
• face barriers that are preventing them from progressing into education, employment or training.
