A Message from our Lucy Hubber, Director of Public Health

Thank you for your interest in joining the Public Health team at Nottingham City Council. We are incredibly proud of our team and the impact they make, and we hope this page gives you a sense of who we are, what matters to us, and the difference we are making together.

I joined Nottingham five years ago and have been consistently inspired by the creativity, commitment and ambition of our Public Health colleagues. Working collaboratively across the council and with partners, we are delivering an ambitious public health agenda focused on improving outcomes for our communities.

Our team leads work that has both local and national impact. We are recognised for our effective use of the public health grant, our leadership in reducing gambling-related harm, and our approach to embedding lived and living experience in commissioned services. We have also made strong progress in tackling smoking rates and continue to take proactive steps to reduce health inequalities across the city.

Our Joint Local Health and Wellbeing Strategy sets out our priorities for the coming years, with a focus on giving children the best start in life, tackling alcohol-related harm, and continuing our work on employment and health, smoking, healthy lifestyles, and supporting people experiencing severe multiple disadvantage.

These roles offer an exciting opportunity to lead across key priority areas, bringing innovation, collaboration and real impact.

I would welcome the opportunity to talk to you more about our work and these roles. I hope you will consider joining us and playing a part in making a difference for the people of Nottingham.

Lucy Hubber
Director of Public Health
