A Message from Darren Elvidge, Chief Technology Officer

At Nottingham City Council, we are at a pivotal moment in our technology journey.

We are undertaking a significant IT Transformation, one that goes beyond systems and infrastructure. This is about reshaping how we work, how we deliver services, and how we use technology to better serve our communities.

Our ambition is clear: to build a modern, resilient and digitally enabled Council where technology is not just a support function, but a true strategic partner.

We want to create an environment where:

  • Technology enables better outcomes for residents
  • Our teams are empowered with the right tools and capabilities
  • Decisions are informed by data, insight and strong governance
  • Innovation and continuous improvement are part of our everyday culture

To achieve this, we are building a new Technology function with strong leadership, clear accountability and a focus on collaboration across the organisation.

The roles we are recruiting to are central to this vision. They are not just about maintaining services, they are about shaping the future. Whether leading IT delivery, strengthening governance and security, or working in partnership with services to drive change, these roles will have a lasting impact across the Council.

We are looking for people who are passionate about public service, who embrace challenge, and who want to be part of something meaningful.

This is an opportunity to help build something new, to influence how technology is used across a major city, and to make a real difference to the lives of our residents.

If that excites you, I encourage you to explore the opportunities with us.

✨ Join us and help shape the future of technology at Nottingham City Council
