Overview
Albany House Day Service is a dedicated day service that provides comprehensive support and care for individuals over the age of 50. We specialise in assisting those with physical and sensory impairments, mental health challenges, learning disabilities, and those in need of specialist dementia support. Our modern facility is designed to offer a safe, comfortable, and stimulating environment where our participants can thrive.
Our Mission
At Albany House, our mission is to enhance the well-being of each individual by providing personalised care, engaging activities, and a strong sense of community. We are committed to fostering independence, dignity, and joy in a supportive and welcoming environment.
Specialised Care: Our experienced team is equipped to support a wide range of needs, including physical and sensory impairments, mental health issues, learning disabilities, and dementia care. We create individualised care plans that focus on promoting independence while ensuring safety and comfort.
Focus on Independence: We are dedicated to helping our participants maintain their independence for as long as possible, with the support they need to do so safely.
Varied and Inclusive Activities: We offer a variety of activities tailored to the interests and abilities of our participants. From arts and crafts, music sessions, and gardening in our raised flower beds, to internet-based activities and social games, there's something for everyone.
Local Area Outings: We believe in the importance of staying connected with the community. Regular outings to local attractions, parks, and shopping areas provide opportunities for social interaction, exploration, and enjoyment.
Modern Facilities: Albany House is housed in a contemporary building designed with our participants' needs in mind. Our facilities include comfortable seating areas, internet access, and well-maintained outdoor spaces with raised flower beds and outdoor seating, perfect for relaxation and socialising.
Specialist Dementia Support: For those living with dementia, we provide specialist care and activities designed to stimulate cognitive function and enhance quality of life. Our team is trained in dementia care practices and works closely with participants and their families to ensure the best possible support.
Bathing Facilities: We understand the importance of personal care and offer fully equipped bathing facilities to help participants maintain their dignity and hygiene in a comfortable and supportive environment.
Whilst spending time at Albany House we offer tea, coffee, or cold drinks. These are normally served on your arrival and after lunch. There are always biscuits available in the mornings to go alongside your drink. Filtered drinking water and juice are available all day as we feel it is important to your health and wellbeing to stay hydrated.
Lunch is served each day at 12:00pm. Hot meals are provided by the onsite Kitchen (chargeable) or you are more than welcome to bring your own packed lunch if you wish.
Fees vary based on the level of support needed and are determined after a taster session and assessment. A financial assessment by the Fairer Charging Team will decide the contribution required to attend the Centre.
