Autism Awareness E-learning programme
Nottingham City Council is developing a training programme to raise awareness of Autism and challenge the stereotypes that still exist. This will form part of a larger training programme aimed at people whose job may bring them into contact with Autistic people.
The foundation of the training is an E-learning package which was designed in partnership with autistic people, and professionals from Nottinghamshire County Council, Nottingham City Council and Nottinghamshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust.
Through the E-learning, you can expect to learn about the characteristics of autism, relevant legislation and practical ways of supporting autistic people.
The E-Learning is available in two formats; in the Learning Pool Learning Management System for agencies who have access to this and a PowerPoint version for those who do not.
The PowerPoint version is also open to members of the public who may have an interest in Autism.
Hidden Voices is a film about autistic people and family carers talk openly about their experiences of living with autism and their hopes and dreams for Nottingham's Autism Strategy.
