Home Information for Residents Job Opportunities Volunteer for Nottingham Youth Justice Service

Nottingham Youth Justice Service (YJS) is a dynamic organisation set up to identify and respond to youth crime in the city with the support of local community members. It is based on the belief that all members of the community should be able to go about their daily lives without fear of crime and harassment as well as feeling safe in the street and within their own homes.

Within the Youth Justice Service a range of agencies work together to identify specific causes and consequences of crime, address fears and anxieties held within communities, offer support and direct reparation to victims of crime and provide opportunities as an option to children at risk of offending.

We are looking for committed, caring people representing the diverse communities throughout Nottingham who are willing to give their time to challenge youth crime in the city, in the role of a Volunteer Panel Member. Open minded, non-judgemental volunteers who can empathise with and understand a young person’s perspective, are required to share and actively promote the vision of the Youth Justice Service in tackling youth crime and creating cohesive communities.

We hope you will take this opportunity to join the YJS as a volunteer to develop in this valuable role. Personal rewards reaped from involvement with children in the community are immense and the scheme will also provide a chance to meet and socialise with other like-minded people in the local area.

All volunteers must be flexible, fair and committed to equality and anti-discrimination.
