Nottingham City Council is committed to supporting Bulwell’s business community. We are targeting a portion of our Levelling Up funds to support businesses in Bulwell and Bulwell Forest wards through a business support grant programme.

Grants can make a huge difference to your business. They can help you push your business further, enable you to make game-changing investments you couldn’t manage alone, and at Nottingham City Council they come with expert support every step of the way.

We have established three capital grant schemes to support and sustain existing businesses in Bulwell.

We have grants available to support business growth, improve shop fronts and vacant premises and reduce carbon emissions/energy costs.

Available Grants

The Business Growth and Productivity Grant aims to support Bulwell’s businesses to deliver growth and improve productivity. It will support businesses to contribute to local economic growth through new investment, supporting the expansion and diversification of existing businesses located in Bulwell.

The grant will support businesses to grow and improve their productivity through the provision of capital grants.

The project will provide up to 50% grant funding for investments. The maximum amount of grant that can be awarded is £5,000. The balance of the investment must be provided by the applicant.

Priority will be given to those applicants that can best demonstrate how the grant will have a positive impact on business growth, productivity and the creation of new employment in Bulwell.

The grant operates over two stages – an expression of interest followed by a full application. Support is available through the Nottingham City Growth Hub Team to help applicants develop their projects and complete and submit applications to the grant.

The scheme will remain open to applications until all funding has been committed.
