Are you a skilled professional with a passion for supporting young people? This Specialist Foster Carer role offers a challenging yet rewarding opportunity to provide a stable, family home for a child. You'll play a crucial role in their journey, offering support, guidance, security and care.
Requirements and responsibilities
- Nottingham City, Derby City, Derbyshire County and Nottinghamshire County Councils are looking for Specialist Foster Carers who can look after young people moving from residential care into foster family life.
- The young people are likely to have complex needs requiring a higher level of care, support and nurturing to make a real difference to their lives and future. They may have experienced multiple placements and will be managing behaviours due to traumatic life events.
- Specialist Foster Carers will have experience in caring or working with young people from a range of areas e.g. residential childcare, school or nursing settings.
- You, or somebody in your household, will need to be available as a full-time Carer, be able to drive and have access to a car, be home-based, have a spare bedroom and be motivated to work with a team of professionals.
- As a Specialist Foster Carer you will be self-employed.
- Carers will be matched with a young person following a careful assessment process to ensure the child is a good match for your family or circumstances.
