Submit a Demolition Application

If you plan to demolish a building or part of a building greater than 50m3, you must give us at least 6 weeks' notice. It is an offence to demolish a building without the necessary notice being given. 

The fee for all demolition applications is £250, payable on submission. Your application will not be validated until payment is received. 

All applications must have an Ordnance Survey (OS) map that clearly identifies the building to be demolished. We cannot accept or process your submission without the OS map.

Completing this service should take around 7 minutes.

To submit your demolition application, you will need:

  • Your contact information
  • The postcode of the building to be demolished
  • An Ordnance Survey map showing the building(s) to be demolished (aerial photos are not accepted)
  • The name and address of your demolition contractor
  • A copy of your notifications to utility providers and other relevant services (e.g., Highways, Health & Safety)
  • Any protected species reports, if relevant
  • Details of any asbestos or asbestos cement removal (the Health and Safety Executive must be informed if asbestos is found)
  • Your payment details
