The development in Sherwood by Nottingham City Homes on behalf of Nottingham City Council consists of 223 apartments for older people, spread across three interconnected buildings - two existing tower blocks, which have been extensively refurbished, plus a new build, 44-one bed Extra Care Centre for older people who want to continue to live independently but may have additional care needs. Work commenced in the Summer of 2017 and is due to complete in the Summer of 2019.

The vision for Winwood Heights is that of a complete retirement village in a beautiful and unique parkland location. All homes will be highly energy efficient and fully accessible for disabled people, allowing older people and those with extra care needs to stay living within their communities for longer.
