About our Organisation
The Bridge Notts CIC is a Nottingham-based social enterprise promoting community wellbeing through practical life skills, mentoring, and inclusive activities in safe, accessible spaces. We support young people, families, older adults, and care-experienced individuals across Nottinghamshire, helping reduce isolation, build confidence, and increase resilience. Our work tackles inequalities in health, education, and opportunity, with experience spanning cooking skills, social eating, and cultural programmes. Tackling food poverty is just one example of how we address wider social challenges. Through grassroots engagement and collaboration, we empower underrepresented communities and foster stronger, more connected and equitable local networks.
About our UKSPF project
The Bridge Notts CIC will deliver targeted digital and essential life skills training to vulnerable and economically inactive residents across Nottingham. The project, starting Sept 2025, will focus on older adults (50+), NEET young people, care-experienced individuals, and those with disabilities or health conditions — many of whom face digital exclusion and social isolation. We will run structured workshops including “The Digital Toolbox” and “Shopping and Cooking on a Budget”, as well as drop-in sessions and 1:1 digital support. Delivery will take place in trusted local venues including Hillview Community Centre, Sneinton Community Hub, and Independent Living Schemes in Winwood Heights, Woodvale, and Fenton Court.
The aim is to build confidence, digital literacy, and practical numeracy in everyday contexts—reducing barriers to further education, community engagement, and employment. We will reach over 200 participants and offer clear pathways into Nottingham City Council’s Community & Family Learning courses, volunteering, or further skills programmes. The project will cover city wards including Dales, Mapperley, Basford, Bestwood, St Ann’s, and Radford. Our experienced delivery team and strong community networks ensure high engagement and sustainable outcomes. Tackling digital and social inequality, this project creates inclusive opportunities for learners otherwise left behind by mainstream provision.
