About our Organisation

Nottingham Trent University (NTU) and Nottingham Community and Voluntary Service (NCVS) are working together on a joint project to support communities and drive positive change across the East Midlands. NTU is one of the UK’s largest universities, known for research, innovation, and enterprise support.

NCVS strengthens Nottingham’s voluntary sector through volunteering, development support, and advocacy. Together, they bring extensive experience in supporting start-ups, business growth, workforce development, and sustainable innovation.

This partnership combines NTU’s regional impact and NCVS’s community focus to build capacity, increase influence, and improve lives through stronger voluntary and community sector engagement.

About our UKSPF project

The Social Enterprise Accelerator offers a comprehensive support package to help you bring your new social enterprise ideas to life or grow your existing Voluntary Community and Social Enterprise (VCSE) organisation.

Are you in need of a boost to take your social enterprise to the next level? Are you contemplating starting a new business venture with a social purpose, but unsure where to begin? Or maybe you’re considering setting up a trading arm of your charity? Our complimentary growth support package is tailor-made for you!

Our experienced team will provide a wide range of support services encompassing specialised training, business diagnostics, organisational development, and access to funding.

Our free support is open to all aspiring social entrepreneurs in Nottingham. 

We offer a start-up programme – a three day set of workshops to explore all the fundamentals that you need to start your social enterprise

1-2-1 support with our expert facilitator to identify your key needs and help you plan your next steps

A series of training activities and inspirational speakers

A meet the buyer event to find out about procurement and talk to commissions

A grant programme, to gain specialist support to move your organisation to the next level
