Medilink Midlands is the region’s specialist, not-for-profit membership organisation supporting the growth of the life sciences, health, and medtech sectors across the Midlands and East of England. With over 20 years of experience, it has a strong track record in innovation support, stakeholder engagement, and business growth. Medilink delivers tailored programmes, diagnostics, and sector-specific expertise while partnering with local authorities, universities, and NHS stakeholders to drive economic impact through knowledge exchange, grant delivery, and mentoring.
Through its deep sector knowledge and extensive networks, Medilink Midlands acts as a vital connector across industry, academia, and healthcare. It empowers innovators to commercialise ideas, access funding, and scale impact—ensuring the Midlands remains a nationally recognised hub for health innovation and life sciences excellence.
About our UKSPF project
Medilink Midlands will deliver a UK Shared Prosperity Fund (UKSPF) programme focused on supporting business growth across Nottingham City from 1st April 2025. Targeting SMEs in the life sciences, health, medtech, digital, and high-tech sectors, the project will provide intensive innovation support to help businesses scale, enhance productivity, and access new markets. The offer is open to eligible businesses located in all Nottingham City wards.
The project’s core aim is to stimulate sustainable business growth by removing key innovation and development barriers. It delivers support across four key pillars:
- 121 Innovation Support & Peer Networks – Tailored guidance from sector specialists, including business diagnostics, mentoring, and peer learning environments.
- Training & Resources – Access to expert-led webinars and on-demand learning around regulation, IP, and commercial readiness.
- Grant Funding – Innovation grants of up to £5,000 (50% intervention) to accelerate product/service development and unlock growth potential.
- Future Talent Lab – Linking businesses to skilled talent via placements, forums, and industry engagement events.
The programme supports both established and growth-stage businesses, helping to build resilience, increase competitiveness, and strengthen Nottingham’s role as a nationally significant innovation hub.
