Short Description of Organisation 

Sherwood Community Association hosts over 70 community groups each week, welcoming approximately 900 individuals including children and adults with special needs, elderly residents facing isolation, and women and children recovering from domestic abuse. We support refugees, carers, and low-income families.

We deliver a range of volunteering events and workshops and are committed to promoting the benefit of all inhabitants of Sherwood and the wider Nottingham. We have a strong track record of delivering community engagement activities, seasonal festivals, wellbeing activities, educational talks, and intergenerational  inclusive events. This summer we will hold a range of celebrations for our 75th anniversary and expect at least 500 to 1000 people.

Summary of planned improvemments 

There are  improvement needed  Including: Roof Repairs  wateringress We are proposing repairs to prevent damage to internal spaces, improving the spaces and safety.

CCTV and automatic door improvements Security upgrade will help the entrance feel safer and thus encouraging new users to hire spaces.

Fire Escape and Safety Works painting and  maintenance to external fire escapes to ensure continued safety standards. This also including windows  fire doors that need replacing opening unused space.
Lighting and Electrical Repairs programme upgrading and improve safety

Internal Refurbishment refreshing well-used areas making them more welcoming/ extending the lifespan of the interior. 
Portable air conditioning units will also be of benefit in ensuring that users can safely use the spaces in high temperatures 
Improvements will enhance the building and extend usage to wider groups
