About our Organisation
IMPACD CIC is a community organisation based in Nottingham, founded in 2022 to reduce isolation and improve wellbeing through inclusive creative activity. We support people of all ages, backgrounds, and abilities in connecting through movement, music, costume-making, puppetry, and storytelling. Our work is person-led and shaped by people with lived experience. We host regular workshops in our local area, as well as in collaboration with groups throughout the city. We have delivered Arts Council, Sport England, Long Covid and Levelling Up funded projects, and engage over 150 people weekly across community hubs, care settings, festivals and public events.
Summary of events and activities to be delivered
Join us at The Weaving Troupe – a joyful, inclusive community programme running from July 2025 to March 2026, open to everyone! We’ll be hosting 28 creative workshops across Nottingham, culminating in vibrant public performances at major events, including the Nottingham Caribbean Carnival, PRIDE, Hockley Hustle, Green Festival, Light Night, and a celebration at Stonebridge City Farm.
Our workshops are designed for individuals of all abilities, ages, and those with long-term conditions. Whether you’re entirely new to creative activities or already love to express yourself, we welcome everyone! Performing is completely optional; our main focus is on creativity and building a strong sense of community.
You’ll have the opportunity to explore movement and dance, drumming, costume-making, puppetry, and sensory art in a friendly, drop-in environment. Sessions will be held at our Sneinton/St Ann’s base on Tuesdays. Come and be a part of our creative family!
Everyone is welcome, especially:
- Disabled and neurodivergent people
- Older adults and unpaid carers
- LGBTQIA+ communities
- Refugees, asylum seekers and newer communities
- People experiencing loneliness, anxiety or hardship
- Families and all generations
All sessions are free, and access support is available. We aim to celebrate culture, creativity, and connection through art, movement, and togetherness. We unite people by offering these free sessions that promote expression and collaboration in a supportive environment.
