About our Organisation
Belong Nottingham is a charitable organisation supporting refugees, asylum seekers and vulnerable migrants in Nottingham. With over a decade of experience, we provide ESOL, digital skills, and employability training alongside wraparound support. Our team includes highly qualified tutors and multilingual volunteers, delivering tailored programmes that promote inclusion, independence, and access to work or further education. We are Matrix accredited and trusted by local partners including DWP, BEGIN and Nottingham City Council.
About our UKSPF project
Starting in June 2025, Belong Nottingham will deliver a targeted Essential Skills project funded by the UK Shared Prosperity Fund. This initiative focuses on boosting digital literacy and English language skills for vulnerable and economically inactive residents across Nottingham. Participants will include resettled refugees, asylum seekers, older migrants (50+), single parents, and those experiencing social isolation, poor mental health, or exclusion due to language, gender, disability, or sexuality.
Courses include ESOL for everyday life, digital skills for employment, mobile tech use for older residents, and creative sessions like smartphone photography. We will also deliver “Life at School in England” sessions for migrant parents and men’s conversation clubs. Activities will be hosted at accessible community venues across City wards including St Anns, Hyson Green & Arboretum, Sneinton, and Radford.
Belong’s outreach methods include translated materials, local ambassadors, trusted community leaders, and drop-ins at Job Centres and libraries. All learners receive one-to-one Information Advice and Guidance (IAG) to support their progression into further learning or accredited courses. The project aims to engage over 90 people between June 2025 and March 2026, creating pathways into education, training and employment.
