This is a unique leadership opportunity at the heart of the Nottingham City Integrated Youth Service.

As an Adolescence Supervisor, you'll provide leadership, support and supervision to a team of Youth Development Workers and Youth Work Apprentices. You'll help build a confident and skilled workforce while ensuring high-quality support is delivered to young people and families across the city.

In this role you'll:

• Lead, coach and develop a team of practitioners
• Provide reflective supervision and practice leadership
• Support apprentices as they progress through their learning journey
• Ensure strong safeguarding and risk management practice
• Work collaboratively with partner agencies and communities
• Help shape the future direction of youth services in Nottingham

Working Hours: 37 hours per week post – This will include day and evenings work, finishing at 9.30pm

Worker Type: Onsite Worker

Salary: Starting Salary is £32,597 (Level one) rising to £35,412 (Level four) per annum (pro rata for part-time)

Working citywide, you'll deliver youth provision through youth centres, community venues, outreach projects and local neighbourhood initiatives. This is a unique opportunity to earn while you learn, gaining a fully funded BA (Hons) in Youth Work through Nottingham Trent University while working directly with young people across Nottingham.

Danielle’s Story - Youth Development Worker

I’m Danielle, I’ve worked for Nottingham City Council for 15 years and started as an apprentice Youth Worker. Through my apprenticeship, I developed a passion for youth work and working with young people and have progressed to Youth Development Worker.

There are always opportunities to progress in role; I completed my NVQ level 2 and NVQ level 3 in Youth Work and am now looking to complete a diploma. I have undertaken a range of training courses that have helped shape and develop my practice in youth work.

The training has elevated my engagement skills with young people so that I can work on getting the best out of them and so that they also feel in control of their journeys. The training has enabled me to safeguard Children and Young people effectively and to the best of my ability, ensuring they are always at the centre of what I do and always have a voice.

I’ve worked with some amazing teams that have always shared their vast knowledge and experience, which has shaped me into the youth worker I am today. I have a very creative mind and like to think outside the box and Nottingham City Council has always encouraged this.

I would describe working here as exciting, rewarding and innovative. The culture here is supportive and we have great relationships with other professionals in the council and within the wider community.

I feel proud to look back on my 15 years of service knowing I’ve played such an important role in young people’s lives. Through support and guidance, I’ve provided opportunities for them to make informed choices, to reach for their aspirations and goals and to have a voice in their own stories.
