This Green Flag award winning park is one of our most popular city destinations, the site includes the Memorial Garden, War Memorial, Embankment, Playing Fields, Play Area and soon to be restored Paddling Pool. Opened in 1927, the land was donated by Sir Jesse Boot and became Grade II listed in 2001. The original layout and design remains intact including plant beds, footpaths and many of the mature trees.

Parking and Accessibility

Easily accessible from the city centre and the wider community via the tram network that runs alongside. As well as regular bus services. Cycle access.

Public access - via a network of pedestrian walkways. The park has four main entrance points (two via Victoria Embankment, one via the carpark on Green street and one disabled access via the footpath adjacent to the Playing Fields.
Disabled Parking - available on Victoria Embankment.

Site Activities

Our parks are home to a variety of different trees. Some are native to the United Kingdom and are quite common, but there are also some non-native, rare species. These trails take you on a walk around the sites and explore some of the significant trees which have been planted over time.

Walking for Health
