The Fuel Voucher Scheme is currently closed

The re-opening of the Nottingham Fuel Voucher scheme on Tuesday 8th February has seen an unprecedented demand from residents.

We have already helped over 4,000 residents through the scheme and the team are working to clear the 1,800 pending applications for support, which means the temporary closure of the scheme for new applications, to enable this process to be completed.


  • In receipt of Council Tax Support
  • For pre-payment customers – Have £50 or less credit on your pre-payment meter
  • For credit billing customers – Have an amount of £20 or more owing on your last statement

Once an application has been processed, the team will run a check on the Council Tax register. Upon checking, the voucher will be processed.

How the Vouchers are sent

  • Post

Vouchers processed by text and email will be sent within 4 weeks.   Vouchers sent by post may take slightly longer. 

In order to use the voucher, you should go to your nearest Pay Point store where you can top-up your heating/electricity card, or issue a cash voucher for credit billing, smart meter or British Gas pre-payments.
