Energy Vouchers - Update on Delivery to Residents

Automatic Vouchers for Previous Recipients

The council has successfully distributed all of the automatic vouchers to residents digitally via email/text so far and will continue to work to provide these vouchers as soon as possible.

The process of postal voucher distribution for automatic vouchers has commenced, but is likely to continue beyond 31st December due a number of factors including administration of the large volumes involved and postal disruption nationwide. Currently we estimate that this will now be fully complete for postal vouchers by 31st  January 2023. Residents awaiting vouchers are advised only to contact the partner organisation they applied through after Wednesday 1st February 2023 if they have still not received them so that this can be resolved. Please do not contact the agencies before this date as you voucher may be in progress to be delivered.

New Applications

New applications will be processed within 10 working days and voucher distribution to the residents should continue to be within 2 weeks for digital or 4 weeks for postal vouchers.

Energy Voucher Expiry Period

Digital vouchers delivered through text or email will have a 2 week expiry, but Postal Vouchers now have a 4 week expiry to enable residents to have the time to redeem them

The Fuel Voucher Scheme is now open

The Household Support Fund is being used between October 2022 and March 2023 to provide help with energy costs to Nottingham residents. Details of the organisations involved in supporting residents and issuing vouchers can be found on here.

How the Vouchers are sent

  • Text message
  • Email
  • Post

Vouchers processed by text and email will be sent within 4 weeks.   Vouchers sent by post may take slightly longer.

In order to use the voucher, you should go to your nearest Pay Point store where you can top-up your heating/electricity card, or issue a cash voucher for credit billing, smart meter or British Gas pre-payments.

If you’ve received a Post Office Voucher as part of additional support being provided via the Energy Bill Rebate scheme, the deadline for cashing these is 30 November.  If you do not cash them by this date we will credit your council tax account with the amount of the voucher.
