To Be Two

Course Length: 2 x 3 hour sessions

Course Leaders: EYFS Teaching and Learning Specialist and EYFS Support Worker

Audience: Specifically for PVI, Childminders and School Practitioners working with, or planning to work with, 2 year olds

Course Overview: Through a mixture of theory and practical activities, practitioners will be supported to extend their knowledge and understanding of the uniqueness of 2 year-olds, and how best to support their distinct developmental needs.

We will explore how to ensure an enriched and informed curriculum which can be delivered through quality interactions within play and through the provision of an enabling environment. We will explore typical and expected behaviour at this age and discuss strategies on how to manage behaviour and support self-regulation.

Following the first session, practitioners will be supported to reflect on information delivered through a practical gap task which will be fed back and inform discussion at the second session.
