Dog collection and fees

You'll have to pay a fee to cover its time in kennels. It'll cost more the longer it stays. Fees start on the day it's taken to the Kennels.

Fees:

  • 1 Day - £64.00
  • 2 Days - £78.00
  • 3 Days - £92.00
  • 4 Days - £131.00
  • 5 Days - £145.00
  • 6 Days - £159.00
  • 7 Days - £173.00

If you don't collect your dog within this time it will be put up for adoption.

If it's wearing a collar or microchipped

If a dog is picked up and it is wearing a collar or is microchipped with correct owner details, we will make every effort to return the dog to its owner, a Fixed Penalty Notice will normally be issued.

If microchip is not up-to-date

  • If your dogs microchip is not up-to-date once at the kennels
  • Or dog does not have a microchip,

This is charged at £15.00 as it is a legal requirement to have your dog microchipped.

If No Identification

If the dog is picked up on more than one occasion or cannot be identified, it will be taken to our kennels.

If a dog is not collected by the owner within 7 days of being seized then Nottingham City will legally assume ownership of that dog. The majority of the strays that are left unclaimed are re-homed but in certain circumstances they do have to be put to sleep.

NB Cash payments and cheques are not accepted.
