Consultation – Review of Traffic Sensitive Streets

In response to the Department for Transport’s consultation on “Street and Road Works Further Reforms” the government have decided to proceed with the proposal to amend regulations on the criteria for designating a street as traffic sensitive. The criteria will be amended to ensure the traffic sensitivity designation is only used for the roads that carry the most traffic or where works could adversely affect traffic, including buses and freight deliveries, cyclists and pedestrians. In response to the government’s decision a review of traffic sensitive streets maintained by Nottingham City Council has been carried out and the categories for traffic sensitive streets will change to meet the new criteria.
