Free Fun and Food - Holiday Activity Fund

'Free Fun and Food' is funded by the Department for Education and is the City's name for the Holiday Activity Fund (HAF).

The funding enables local authorities to coordinate a programme that provides healthy food and enriching activities to disadvantaged children during the school holidays throughout 2024.

The DfE funding is primarily for children who are in receipt of Free School Meals. However, up to 15% of the funding can be used to support other vulnerable children.

Funding will be awarded to organisations and groups who make ‘Free Fun and Food’ available to children, of all ages, including those with SEND, and in receipt of Free School Meals. Activities should be equivalent to at least 4 hours a day, 4 days a week during the funding period of 3 weeks in the summer, one week in the Easter, October and Christmas school holidays in 2024.
