Free DA training for workers in Early Years settings (0-5yo)

1.7 million women aged 16-74 experienced domestic abuse in the year ending March 2022 (ONS). 1 in 5 children are exposed to domestic abuse (NSPCC).

CADA Project has been created to help Early Years Practitioners and their settings to identify and support children who are experiencing domestic abuse, with information about key indicators and tried and tested support strategies.

We are looking for Early Years settings in Nottingham City and County interested in free training on how to identify and respond to domestic abuse.

The training will explore:

  • links between domestic abuse and trauma
  • identifying domestic abuse in children using health, development, social and behavioural indicators
  • responding to domestic abuse through creating the right supportive environment
  • supporting adult survivors of domestic abuse
  • providing safe space for survivors
  • routes to specialists services and resources available

Please contact training@equation.org.uk to find out more. If you know any practitioners who could benefit from this training, please forward this newsletter.

In the meantime, feel free to download the booklet - a pdf guide for Early Years Practitioners containing useful information, further resources and contacts.
