Blended Learning Paediatric First Aid

This blended learning approach consists of an E-Learning module and one day face to face practical and assessment session.

This course is essential for practitioners working within the EYFS and covers the requirements of the EYFS Framework.  The qualification is valid for 3 years. Places book up quickly - please plan well in advance.

Course Length: 6 hours of interactive E-Learning and 6 hours of practical training

Audience: All sectors can access this training

Fee per delegate: £75 for PVI Settings and Childminders and £99 for Schools, regardless of location.

Accessing E-learning Module

Once you have completed an online booking form, you will be emailed instructions on how to access the E-Learning module.  

The course will cover the following topics and more:

• First Aid Requirements and First Aid Kit
• Head injuries in babies and children
• Records of accidents and incidents
• Caring for children who suddenly become unwell
• Treatment of childhood injuries and illnesses 
• Conditions such as Epilepsy (Seizures), Asthma, Sickle Cell
• Conditions such as Diabetes and Meningitis 
• Administration of Medication
• Emergency planning
• Effects of extreme heat
• Febrile Convulsions
• Resuscitation 
• Choking

You can complete the E-Learning at a time to suit you, however this should ideally be completed before attending the practical and assessment session.

Practical and Assessment Training

This is a full day of training held at Loxley House..

Important Information: Delegates will need to arrive on time for the practical session in order to complete the 6 hours required for this training and as such the trainers have the right to turn latecomers away.  Breaks will be arranged by the trainers in agreement with delegates.  Please wear suitable clothes as the course comprises practical work whereby you will usually need to kneel on the floor, including practical assessment on CPR, recovery position and other aspects of first aid.

On successful completion of this course delegates will be able to download a certificate for their e-learning and will be sent a certificate of attendance for the practical training.  Both certificates are needed to evidence your Paediatric First Aid qualification.
