Nottingham City is seeking to appoint a new Independent Chair for its well-established multi-agency Safeguarding Adults Board.
This critical role requires someone to provide independent leadership and strategic vision to the safeguarding adults agenda across Nottingham City. The successful candidate will chair the Nottingham City Safeguarding Adults Board in a professional and impartial and manner while ensuring the Board has an independent objective and authoritative identity.
The Independent Chair will demonstrate high level communication and negotiation skills with both professionals and the public to support the continuous improvement of the Board. The role calls for someone with extensive experience in chairing strategic partnerships, a successful record of work promoting outcomes for vulnerable adults, along with the required passion and knowledge that this important role requires. The Chair will also act as the ‘public face’ of adult safeguarding within Nottingham City, responding to media enquiries where required.
The appointment will be on a consultancy/self-employed basis and it is estimated that 30 working days per annum will be required to meet the Board’s requirements.
