Whether you enjoy fiction, like to keep up with the latest news or want to stay in touch with family and friends, our trained staff can support and guide you to find the reading option to suit you.

Read In Sight delivers new and existing Library services with a range of equipment and resources providing you with an equality of access to reading, learning and information.

With an increased range of books and talking books for both adults and children to choose from, be inspired to seek information and carry on reading the books that you love in a welcoming and accessible place with Read In Sight.

Library staff are available to support you in accessing and using the equipment available as well as providing basic computer help sessions if you are new to computers.

Resources and Equipment available include:

Accessible tablet

Use the Samsung 9.7 inch tablet installed with easy-to-use Synapptic software. Great for Emails, Websites, Calendar, Voice Control, Skype, Radio, TV, Talking Book Memory Sticks and much more!


Computer magnification and Speech Software

Want to check your emails, surf the web or use Microsoft office. You can with the I-Zoom computer magnification and speech software installed on the library’s PCs.

Desktop Electronic Magnifier

Magnify your photographs and documents with the i-See Desktop electronic magnifier. A natural step on from any magnifying glass, see characters and images in a new light.


One of the easiest reading machines to use, the stand alone page/ book i-Reader will soon become your essential reading companion.



Use this award winning tool to listen to specially selected picture books with your children

RNIB PenFriend

Use the PenFriend to help you to select your talking books. Listen to audio descriptions of the Author, Title and details of each book in our talking book collection.



USB players

Loan a USB player to use with the free RNIB Talking Books Service, giving you access to over 23,000 fiction and non-fiction books for adults and children.
