To use eBooks eMagazines and eAudio you need to be a member, you can join online | Then use your Nottingham City Library card number and PIN/password to register for each service

Free downloads for kids, young adults and adults

 

A great selection of titles to read and listen to on your PC, laptop, smartphone, tablet or iPad. 

BorrowBox has a huge selection of fiction and non-fiction that you can download and enjoy for free as a library member. The App makes it easy to browse, listen and read your library books wherever you are.

To use BorrowBox you will need to register with their service. To do this you will need:

  • to be a Nottingham City Library member
  • have your card number and PIN/password to hand.
  • either download the app via the links below or use the website link below to access our Nottingham City Libraries BorrowBox.
  • Follow the online instructions: You will be asked for your ID / Barcode this is your library card number e.g. D03012345.

If you have a problem with any of the above you can:

  • join the library online if you are not a member, then come back to this page to register with BorrowBox.
  • reset your PIN/password if you have forgotten it on the library catalogue (you must have a valid email on your library membership)
  • contact us if you have lost your card or do not know your card number or need more help. 

Get apps for smartphone, tablet  and iPad: BorrowBox Android , BorrowBox iOS, or Search and download eBooks on the BorrowBox website 

Kindle Fire tablet is the only Kindle that accepts eBooks in the format provided here.

When you are all signed up you can select up to 10 eBooks at a time free.

Once downloaded eBooks are available for 21 days, after which they will automatically expire. You will be alerted to the loan coming to an end if you allow notifications. You can renew an eBook twice to get more time. You can return the title earlier if you have finished reading it. 

You can reserve books free of charge on Borrowbox. (Your reservation will count as one of your loans, and the book will appear in your account as soon as it is available).

You can use two eAudio collections, each with different titles to borrow, both are free to use.

You will need to be a member of Nottingham City Libraries and log in with your library card number and PIN.

Ulverscroft eAudio collection 

You can download and keep up to 4 titles and keep for up to three weeks.  Books can be renewed if you need more time.

Titles that are on out loan can be reserved free of charge.

BorrowBox eAudio Collection

Select up to 5 eAudio free from our new BorrowBox service. Once downloaded eAudio will be available for a maximum of 21 days after which they will automatically expire. Items can be renewed twice if need be. 

Titles can be reserved for free and and count as one of your 5 items.

You'll need to select Nottingham City Libraries, have an email address, enter your library card number and then create a password.
