Shipstone Street Makeover
Works to Shipstone Street play area have recently been completed. This followed local consultation and a successful funding bid to WREN for £50,000, this has been matched by Ward Councillor funding of £15,000. This has enabled the Council to renovate the existing play area with new equipment and surfacing and create a new outdoor gym facility.
Astley Drive Play Area
Astley Drive play area that received £13,000 from Ward Councillors for a makeover, has now had the play area improved. The addition of a seesaw, small climbing fame and spinner, along with safety surfacing for this small local open space, should provide an improved facility for local residents for years to come.
Green’s Mill Park
Works have been carried out over the summer after funding was successfully received from WREN to improve the park inform of Green’s Mill. His has included improvements to the grassed areas, modifications to the car park, creation of a Wildflower area improving the play area, tree works and other things to improve the quality of the open space. We are now working closely with the WIND friends group and Green’s Mill itself to help continue the improvements on site, with WIND holding regular volunteering sessions on site and are always happy to see new people help out! (please use attached photo ‘Greens Mill photo’). The next work session on Sunday 22nd April, we will be preparing the planting beds ready for new planting to brighten up the site further.
