Commissioners appointed |

The Government has announced that Commissioners are to be appointed for Nottingham City Council.  For further information, the council’s response and FAQs can be read here.

Here at Nottingham City Council, we contract the provision of Homecare to a number of Leading and Accredited Providers, who support our elderly and the most vulnerable people in our city.

Those vital providers are looking for enthusiastic people to join them, making a difference to the lives of many.

The role of a Care Worker seeks to provide safe and appropriate personalised care and support to citizens in a way that that maintains their dignity, maximises independence and gives them choice and control over the way their care is provided. A role in care is very rewarding, with a friendly and willing approach, you’ll work with lots of people, many who need a smiling and caring face to brighten their day whilst helping them with some care tasks.

Opportunities are available to work in the different areas of Social Care, such as in the person’s home, in the community or within a residential care home. No matter the area you wish to go into your role will involve personal care, as well as talking to people, getting people in and out of bed, cooking light meals, and prompting or administering medication. Training will be provided so you don't need experience - just a desire to care for others and all employers will provide full PPE as prescribed by the Government’s guidelines

Have a look at the supporting information for Home Care or watch the video above to get a feel for what the job could be like. Please note, the worker in the video works for Nottingham City Council’s Homecare service but it will give you an idea of the roles we have available across the sector.

Please note, pay, terms and conditions will vary between providers and some across the partnership will pay for a DBS check
