Home Care
In order to enable people to live in their own home for as long as possible a range of home care services are available. Help is on offer for day-to-day tasks such as cleaning, shopping and food preparation/cooking, through to personal care that helps with tasks like dressing, bathing, toileting and prompting the taking of medication.
Adult Sensory Team
The Adult Sensory Team supports people in the City who are deaf, have dual sensory loss or experience difficulty with their vision.
Free Sign Language and Lipspeaking Service
The Free Sign Language and Lipspeaking Service helps people who require sign language or lipspeaking support to communicate with any City Council Department. This includes schools and academies or any primary care service such as GPs, opticians or dentists, this service is provided free of charge
Occupational Therapy
Our Occupational Therapy Team assists people with disabilities of all ages to be as independent as possible in their everyday lives.
Physical and Sensory Impairments
The Physical and Sensory Impairments teamwork with a number of organisations and agencies to deliver services to people with physical or sensory impairment.
Shared Lives
Shared Lives offers accommodation and support, including short breaks, within approved family homes for people aged 18 and over whom have a learning disability.
