The Equality Act 2010 introduced a Public Sector Equality Duty (PSED) requiring public bodies to give due regard to the need to: Eliminate unlawful discrimination, Advance equality of opportunity and Foster good relations.

This is done through the completion of Equality Impact Assessments, which must be completed when there is a change to service or new policy implemented.
