Missing Appointments Matter
NHS Nottingham City CCG has commissioned a video animation aimed at citizens to encourage them to attend medical appointments, and to take children and adults they care for to their appointments. The animation is aimed at raising awareness about the consequences of missing appointments and to ensure that children and adults get the medical care that they need.
The animation is a follow-on from the Rethinking ‘Did Not Attend’ video which acted as a powerful reminder that children do not take themselves to appointments and for practitioners to reflect on the impact of missed appointments on a child’s wellbeing.
'Shock' is a video produced by Derbyshire Fire & Rescue Service highlighting the dangers and potential consequences of jumping into open water.
If you work with children and young people, then you could watch this short video with them to make them aware of the risks of jumping into or swimming in open water.

Rethinking ‘Did Not Attend’
A two minute video animation has been produced by the Nottingham City Safeguarding Children Partnership in conjunction with NHS Nottingham City CCG and Nottingham City Council, with the aim of encouraging practitioners to think differently about the established term ‘did not attend’ and consider it within a framework of ‘was not brought.’
The animation encourages practitioners to consider the impact of not being brought on the child’s treatment and potential safeguarding risks.
There Was A Boy
Nottingham City Council has produced There Was A Boy in collaboration with 15 other local authorities across the Midlands for the annual Foster Care Fortnight campaign (14-27 May 2018).
The storyline shows a vulnerable teenager’s life in two parallel situations – similar to the 1998 film Sliding Doors – one where he is fostered and one where he is not. The short film shows what a positive influence foster carer can be and how they have the power to make a huge difference to a young person’s life chances and outlook.

Lucy and the Boy: Be Share Aware
The NSPCC has made a video about the risks that children face when using the internet, and to raise awareness about the important role that parents and carers have in protecting children from online abuse.
If you work with children and families, then you could watch this short video with them and get the conversation started on staying safe online.
Pantosaurus, the latest instalment of the NSPCC’s ‘Pants’ campaign, is a two-minute short designed to teach children important messages like their body belongs to them and they should tell an adult if they're upset or worried.

Be Share Aware
The NSPCC have made the following video to raise awareness and give parents and carers the confidence and skills to talk to their child about staying safe online.

Kayleigh’s Love Story
Leicestershire Police has made a film called Kayleigh’s Love Story as a warning to young people, both girls and boys, about the dangers of speaking to people they don’t know online.
With the support of Kayleigh’s family, Leicestershire Police have made the film about aspects of the last two weeks of her life. The film highlights just how quick and easy it can be for children to be groomed online without them or those around them knowing it is happening. Its purpose is to protect children now and in the future and to stop another family from losing a child in this way.
Please note that the film contains a warning - If it was shown in at a cinema, it would carry a 15 certificate.
Consent – it’s as simple as tea
Thames Valley Police have produced an animated video to raise awareness and understanding of consent. It is an excellent video that explains consent through comparing it to making a cup of tea!
It is a tool that can be used when working with young people.
Safer Sleep Week
Safer Sleep Week is from 13-19 March and it is a national campaign to raise awareness about safe sleeping for babies.
The campaign is led by the Lullaby Trust and its aim is to make sure anyone looking after a young baby know the importance of safer sleep and are aware of how to reduce the chance of Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS). To find out more about the campaign please click here.

Hidden Harm for Professionals
'Derelict' is a video produced by Derbyshire Fire and Rescue Service.
The film aims to underline the dangers of entering derelict and disused buildings, raising awareness to children and young people who may see the buildings as a place to explore, and not a place of danger.
