We know families may have many questions when it comes to arranging or attending a funeral in these challenging times.
Please find below some information to help to give you some clarity.
The Cemeteries Office
The office is now open 9am to 3pm Tuesday to Thursday and the phone lines are open 9am to 3pm weekdays (excluding Bank Holidays).
Funerals
From Friday 10 December 2021 masks for visitors in all our chapels and other buildings are once again mandatory. Social distancing applies at all times.
Please be aware that congregational singing in chapels is still not permitted.
From 19 July 2021 the numbers able to attend a funeral with us have changed.
The limits on attendance for the safety of visitors and staff in chapels are as follows:
Wilford Hill Crematorium
- Main Chapel, maximum 65 visitors
- West Chapel, maximum 45 visitors
Northern Cemetery
Northern chapel, maximum 45 visitors
All cemeteries – attendance outdoors is no longer limited. Social distancing should be maintained at all times. Masks are optional outdoors.
Disposal of Cremated Remains
Interments and scatterings of cremated remains are once again available and may be booked in with no limit on the number of attendees, provided social distancing is maintained at all times.
