Many businesses have been subject to closure during the Coronavirus pandemic. Guidance on business and venue closures can be found on the GOV UK website and is regularly updated to reflect changes.
For businesses who are now permitted to open, or are preparing to re-open, it is important that you ensure a safe workplace. The Government has produced guidance to help employers, employees and the self-employed to understand how to work safely during the coronavirus pandemic.
This guidance covers a range of different types of work including construction and outdoor work, factories, plants and warehouses, labs and research facilities, offices and contact centres, other peoples’ home, restaurants offering takeaway or delivery, shops and branches and vehicles.
Prior to opening, it is important that employers have assessed the risks associated with Coronavirus and how they may impact the business. This risk assessment should be in line with the Health and Safety Executive guidance.
The Government also offer guidance on the practical steps required to ensure the safety of both employees and customers.
