Housing Allocations Policy

Nottingham City Council is responsible for producing and delivering the allocations policy for council housing within the City.

Nottingham City Council has a legal duty to have an allocations policy. The allocations policy aims to address housing need in the city and and contribute to the development of sustainable neighbourhoods. It is also a requirement of the Council to make the most effective use of it's housing stock i.e. providing housing to those in need.

The Allocations Policy is currently under review to ensure it reflects the Homeless Reduction Act and meets the requirements of Nottingham citizens. If you are threatened with homelessness you should contact Housing Aid at Nottingham City Council for advice. Alternatively you can contact the Nottingham HomeLink team for general housing advice.

Nottingham City Homes

The Council has charged Nottingham City Homes with operating the policy on it's behalf. Nottingham City Homes is the Council's Arms Length Management Organisation (ALMO) charged with the day to day management of it's homes.
