The Pakistan Centre

The Pakistan Day Centre provides services primarily to members from the Pakistani/Muslim Community who may be suffering from physical or sensory disabilities, have mental health needs, are socially isolated, or have other health issues.

About The Pakistan Day Centre

Run in partnership with The Pakistan Centre, The Pakistan Day Centre provides services to men, primarily from the Pakistani/Muslim Community who may be suffering from physical or sensory disabilities, have mental health needs, are socially isolated, or have other health issues.

The Pakistan Centre is open three days a week, on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursday from 9:30am to 3:00pm.

During your first few weeks at the Pakistan Centre, we will work closely with you to carry out an assessment of your needs. Our aim is to support individuals to work towards their goals and to help them have as much independence as possible. We also maintain close links with the carers of our day centre citizens, and give support and advice where needed.

We provide an activity-based service with links to other agencies, who we are able to put you in touch with. Individuals are assigned a Keyworker, who will ensure that they get the most our of their attendance at the Pakistan Centre.

How can the Pakistan Centre benefit you?

The Centre aims to develop, maintain and prevent the loss of a person's independence by enabling people to rebuild their confidence, increase socialisation and an overall improvement in their quality of life.

At the Pakistan Centre our services are built around you. Everything from meals and transport to activities and leisure time is tailored to provide you with quality care and an enjoyable experience.

Activities: We offer interesting and varied activities including: Friday Prayers (Jumma), quizzes and games, health awareness, day trips and outings and social events celebrating cultural and religious festivals.

As our care is person-centred we welcome requests made by citizens, for example suggestions made regarding activities which they would like to take part in.

Services are provided in a culturally sensitive setting; meeting the dietary and linguistic needs of users.

Transport: We can facilitate transport to and from the centre, for which there is a charge. This charge is means tested.

Meals: You can have meals with us at the centre. We have a community restaurant on site which provides freshly cooked Halal and vegetarian meals to the day centre as well as members of the public for a nominal charge. We also work with the Meals at Home Service to provide our meals to individuals in their homes who may be unable to cook for themselves. The meals are delivered by trained staff from Monday to Friday and are suitable for freezing and reheating later.

Personal care: We provide personal care to those who require it, in a dignified and respectful manner. All our staff are fully trained in this area of care.

Representative groups: The Pakistan Centre has members' representative groups which meet regularly to discuss and input on issues in the centre and in the community as well.
