Opening Times

Please be advised that the Museum of Nottingham Life at Brewhouse Yard has now closed for general admission, pending redevelopment work taking place on the Nottingham Castle site later in the year.

Visits to the Museum of Nottingham Life will remain available for pre-booked parties of 10 or more at a charge of £5 per person for a one-hour tour/visit. For more details or to book, please contact Nottingham Castle on 0115 876 1400. The Castle site remains open from 10am–5pm, Monday–Sunday (last admission 4pm) until further notice.


The ground floor of the Museum of Nottingham Life is fully accessible however there is no lift access to the upper floors of the museum or the Rock Cottage school room. Within the grounds there is an accessible toilet. If you would like further details please contact us on 0115 876 1400.

Follow signs from M1 for Nottingham city centre, then follow the brown tourist signs to Nottingham Castle. The postcode for your sat nav is
NG7 1FB (but please remember there is no parking on site except for people with disabilities).
