We may not always be able to see it, but air pollution is a real issue that is having serious, long-term effects on our health.
In 2017, the Government identified a number of cities where air pollution was too high – Nottingham included - and set them the task of reducing levels of nitrogen dioxide to a maximum average of 40μg/m3 in the shortest possible time, and by 2020 at the latest.
The Government asked the council to develop a plan to reduce air pollution as soon as possible, and we have analysed a series of measures that modelling shows will meet the Government’s targets.
We need to submit our proposals in our Local Plan to Improve Air Quality in Nottingham to the Government in September 2018. Before we do this, we want to know what you think, and how the proposals could affect you.
You can view the draft plan and related documents on the Transport Website.
