Proposed Processing Fee for Nottingham City Residents Parking Permits

At present, Nottingham City residents can apply for up to three residential or visitors permits at no cost to the household for the processing of these applications. Nottingham City Council is considering whether to impose a processing fee for all applications for more than one parking permit, including visitor permits. This proposal for the introduction of a processing fee is going through a public consultation process and is subject to the outcome of other separate legal processes which will also require a public consultation process.

Currently all parking permits are subsidised at 100% making them free to all residents with the exception of businesses and students. The proposal is, subject to the outcome of the above mentioned separate legal process, to introduce a residents parking permit processing fee. If introduced, the first permit will remain free to all households within the parking scheme, but for a second and third permit residents will be asked for a contribution towards the cost of administration on an annual basis
