Designed for practitioners involved in the recruitment of staff or volunteers, this short course looks at key principles of Safer Recruitment. It will support practitioners to actively try to protect children’s welfare when selecting new people for the workforce.

By the end of the course participants will be able to :

  • Identify key features of staff recruitment that help deter or prevent the
  • appointment of unsuitable people
  • Consider policies and practices that minimise opportunities for abuse or ensure
  • its prompt reporting
  • Review their own organisation's policies and practices with a view to making
  • them safe

Pre-course information: Delegates are required to have knowledge of their setting’s Recruitment and Safeguarding Policy.
