This course covers the twelve hour requirement of the EYFS framework. Valid for three years it is essential training for practitioners working within the EYFS.
The course will cover the following topics:
- First Aid Requirements and First Aid Kit, Head injuries in babies and children,
- Records of accidents and incidents, Caring for children who suddenly become unwell, Treatment of childhood injuries and illnesses
- Conditions such as Epilepsy (Seizures), Asthma, Sickle Cell, Diabetes and Meningitis
- Administration of Medication, Emergency planning,
- Effects of extreme heat, Febrile Convulsions & Resuscitation.
On successful completion of this course delegates will receive a certificate which is valid for three years; extensive literature on the subject of First Aid will be given to all attendees on the first day.
It is a requirement of this course that delegates attend the full 12 hours of training in order to receive their certificate.
Important Information: This is a two-day course which covers a wide range of CPR and First Aid skills related to children. This course will provide the learner with a Paediatric First Aid certificate which is valid for 3 years, as of the date of assessment, and meets the requirements of the Early Years and Child Care Register.
It is important that you arrive for the course on time as the course duration is 12 hours and to receive the full award and certificate candidates must attend the full 12 hours, trainers have the right to turn latecomers away. Please wear comfortable clothes as the course comprises of practical work whereby you will need kneel on the floor and theoretical classroom work, including practical assessment on CPR and first aid.
