We are looking for a strong motivated senior leader, with a credible track record of achievement in a large organisation. You will continue to drive forward our People Directorate, providing confident leadership and clear direction. In addition to a wider corporate strategic role for all citizens, you will be accountable for the statutory requirements of the Director of Children’s Services, Director of Adult Social Services and Director of Public Health. We want someone who is dynamic, enthusiastic, passionate and visionary; someone who demands commitment and results but can lead, inspire and motivate people with respect and empathy. As well as being a specialist in your field, you will make a significant contribution to the shaping of the Council’s overall vision and priorities.
You will need a detailed understanding of complex statutory and legal requirements, strategic budget management, and experience of embedding transformational and cultural change to improve performance and to meet financial and demographic demands. You will have significant experience of successful collaborative work with professional bodies, agencies, and partners and the ability to work in a political environment and engender confidence with a wide range of stakeholders, which is critical to this role.
