Apply for a Resident Parking Permit

Please complete the form below and attach the relevant information to apply for a residents parking permit.

Anyone who can prove they are a resident within a scheme area and are in an eligible property can apply for a Residents Permit. Some properties where previous single dwellings have been converted into flats may not be eligible due to planning restrictions.

The maximum allocation of permits per household is 3 and this is made up of any combination of residents or visitors permits. 

Residential permits are valid for 2 years and are free of charge. This permit does not cover caravans or trailers, which cannot be left parked in a residential bay.

Please note if you lose any of the permits issued to the property any replacement will incur a charge of £25.00 per permit.

To renew permits you must complete your application 4 weeks before your old one expires.

It is important to note that only the original permit can be displayed on your windscreen. Permits photocopied or reproduced will result in a penalty charge. 

Vehicle specific Resident Permits require:

  • A copy of the Motor Insurance Certificate (not required for visitor permits)
  • Residents living in a flat (i.e. a house converted into separate properties) will also be required to provide a water rates bill

Please note that it is a requirement for you to be registered on the Electoral Roll before your application can be considered.

However, if you are exempt from registering, please supply documentation to support your application.

If your name does not appear on the Electoral Roll your application may be delayed or refused.  Please note that all applications will be checked and verified with the register.
