Nottingham
City Council is now almost half way through an £18.5 million Leisure Centre Transformation Programme
to provide fewer but better quality community leisure centres across the City.
The
next part of our journey will see the development of the new fitness suite with multi activity / spinning
studio and catering provision at the Nottingham Tennis Centre, University Boulevard, Nottingham.
The
development will see the fitness suite re-located to the ground floor and the catering area re-sited
on the first floor replacing the existing fitness suite.
Nottingham
City Council invites you to view the proposed outline drawings and designs on Monday 14th April
2008 between 2:00pm and 8:00pm at the Tennis Centre, University Boulevard, Nottingham NG7 2QH. Public
viewing of all the information will be available until Sunday 20th April 2008.
Noel
Street Consultation
The
next part of our journey will see the opening of our first brand new Leisure Centre based at the Djanogly
City Academy, Gregory Boulevard site as a replacement for Noel Street Leisure Centre.
Proposal
to close Victoria Leisure Centre
Nottingham City Council
has committed
to providing a new swimming pool and leisure provision to replace Victoria Leisure Centre.
The
existing centre will close once firm proposals for a new facility and the existing Victoria Leisure
Centre site are completed over the next nine months, tied in with wider regeneration issues being considered
for the area.
The new facility will be located either
on the existing site,
at the new Eastern Academy or elsewhere locally on the east side of the city.

the City’s Leisure Centres
Welcome to Nottingham’s
Leisure Centre Transformation Programme website. Over the next few years, Nottingham City Council leisure
centres will have money invested in the repair and redevelopment of its facilities. This site will provide
you with details of all the projects and keep you updated on their progress. It's also a great way to
get involved and feed back your views and comments.
Work has now been completed on three leisure centres, Portland
Leisure Centre, John Carroll Leisure Centre and Ken Martin Leisure Centre. Plans are also starting
to advance for Nottingham Tennis Centre and Noel Street Leisure Centre replacement.
