Cycle City Ambition Programme
Improvement works to the Western Cycle Corridor will run from the City Centre along Castle Boulevard, over Abbey Bridge, along Abbey Street, connecting to University Boulevard via City Road, which will take the route to the City Boundary at the Broadgate roundabout. You can view a map of the current works taking place including a plan of works by visiting the Western Cycle Corridor construction webpage.
The other three corridors (Southern, Eastern and Northern) are due to begin construction during 2016/2017. For more information on the Cycle City Ambition Programme please visit the Cycle City website.
To further improve the environment around the railway station and its links to the city centre, the council is also pedestrianising Station Street between Carrington Street and Trent Street. This will complement the station’s recent £60 million upgrade and the new tram stop above the station. As part of the improvements, two-way cycle lanes will be installed on the other end of Station Street, more parking spaces will be added to both Station Street and Trent Street and traffic other than buses will be removed from Carrington Street in front of the station.
Works started on 7th September 2015 and will be completed by 31st July 2016. For more information visit the Building a Better Nottingham website.
The Nottingham Travelwise website is the main point of contact for notifying the public in real-time about live or planned congestion across the City.
